Thus far, the sources I've come across have all mentioned Pink Floyd's elaborate light shows. I'm not sure if I'll mention the light shows in my final paper, but I do think that it'd be interesting to look at this aspect of Pink Floyd under the critical approach of mediation. Just like a music video full of visual images, light shows act as a barrier between artist and audience. In the early stages, intricate psychedelic patterns were displayed behind Pink Floyd as they played. During the 80s, however, Pink Floyd began using sophisticated lighting techniques, such as isotope-splitting copper vapor lasers. I know, it sounds pretty high tech. Here are some questions to think about: How do these light shows capture the essence of Pink Floyd? Do these light shows take away from the music?
